To report a power outage to PECO call 80,or text OUT to 697326. Intersections with a traffic signal that is out must be treated as a four way stop intersection with drivers taking turns. If roads are blocked by downed trees do not try to drive through, use an alternate route. Do not approach trees that are down with wires entangled as the electricity is live and can be extremely dangerous. It is important to understand that Lower Merion Public Works crews cannot remove a downed tree if it is entangled with electric lines until PECO arrives on site to make the location safe. For larger items, property owner can either take those items to Koegel Transfer Station or hire a professional. Smaller branches can be cut and bundled as shown on the Township website. If it is a private tree, it is the responsibility of the property owner to handle. If a Township tree is the source of the branches, staff will be through to collect them. PECO has 870 outages in the region affecting 36,826 customers. As of this morning, there were 51 outages affecting 2,205 customers and 55 locations around the township with trees down that involve wires.
